Kerrina Cragun, R.P.T.
Kerrina Cragun, a native of Germany, completed her eight years of education in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her undergraduate schooling took place at Roskilde University in Roskilde, Denmark; where her focus was on Molecular Biology and Psychology. Ms. Cragun completed her postgraduate work at Skolen for Fysioterapeuter; a university highly regarded throughout the European community, for its educating outstanding manual therapy skills and meticulous patient evaluations. Skolen for Fysioterapeuter also provides students with an extensive focus on kinesiology. Kerrina had extensive schooling with Laser Therapy, which has recently been introduced into the United States. Look forward to Kerrina incorporating Laser Therapy at her clinics in the near future.
Upon completion of her post-graduate work, Kerrina fulfilled her internship requirements at Rigshospital and Fredereksberg. The next three years were spent refining her skills at various orthopedic hospitals, including Sundby; at which time Ms. Cragun became a partner of a Physical Therapy Practice in Copenhagen. From 1989 through 1994, Kerrina was the Physical Therapist for Trongården Atletik, an elite Danish Track and Field team and for the 1993-94 track season, she was also the Physical Therapist for the Danish National Track and Field team. Several of her athletes from the national team went on to represent Denmark in the 1996 Olympics.
Kerrina returned to the United States in the mid-nineties. She practiced in Las Vegas, Nevada before settling in sunny Southern California. Kerrina practiced at various private practices near Santa Monica. She also practiced at Kaiser Permanente, Health South and USC, before opening her first practice blocks from the beach and in the heart of the medical district of Santa Monica. While being treated, a patient has a perfect view of the ocean, UCLA Santa Monica Hospital and Saint Johns Medical Center. Last year, Kerrina decided to branch out and open a second practice in the ever-growing Santa Clarita Valley. In June of 2005, Kerrina acquired a partnership in an Acupuncture clinic and formed Blü Wellness Center.
With both practices, Kerrina brings her extensive clinical experience, which includes Orthopedics, Rheumatology, Neurology, Pediatrics, Urology (incontinence), Trigger point and Ergonomics. Kerrina’s expertise remains to be Sports Therapy, Manual Therapy, (which includes Kaltenborn, Maitland, McKenzie and Janda), Bindevævs Treatment, which is connective tissue mobilization not commonly used in the United States.
What sets Blü Wellness Center apart from competitors, is that each patient spends their entire session , one-on-one, with Ms. Cragun.
After fifteen years of practicing, and treating thousands of injuries; Kerrina has fine-tuned an innate ability to detect unreported injuries, secondary injuries and underlying causes of injuries she treats. She can detect injuries by a persons gait, stature or simple touch. This refined skill has led to her treating difficult cases referred to her because the patient has not responded well. Kerrina proudly treats family members of some of the most prominent surgeons in the Los Angeles area. Ms. Cragun has a boundless passion for her profession; not only for what she does, but mainly for her ability to help a patient heal and improve their quality of life.
Kerrina is married; she shares her passion for helping people heal with her passion for raising her three children.
